in case you care/d

this is the kind of stuff i can’t bear to blog about, but if you came here- then you care about random but sometimes helpful or fun @#%^@^@#$…

- what do those pesky little 87 89 91 or 93 at the expensive gas station mean? they are the octane levels- the higher the number, the clearer the fuel will burn in your car. over time, lower levels can build up in your fuel injector. all cars can safely run on 87, but some cars (such as my subaru) recommend higher levels (ie premium unleaded only or whatev- 91) and they would prefer to eat that for expensive meals. (i got this all from here’s another quote: “What’s the safe grade for your car? If you do an average amount of driving; meaning you put the normal ten to fifteen thousand miles on your car each year, 87 octane will be fine. As a preventative measure, it’s a good idea to fill up with 89 or 91 octane once in a while. Once a month should be just fine and will accomplish a good cleaning of the fuel injectors in your vehicle. Any buildup will be removed and you may notice a change in performance and fuel economy as well.” from here)

- when driving, if you want to get a little wind or air in, cool down your car, whatever, you open the window a crack, right? well opening the one behind it to the same level will equalize the pressure and make it so it’s not so blowy in your face! try it!

- if you get pink eye or conjunctivitis and don’t like antibiotics (or are allergic- or if you’ve tried them and they don’t keep it from coming back) get a real aloe plant. break off a few pieces, boil them in a pan with a little water, let it cool down, and then put the aloe/water mix in your eye through a dropper. i got pink eye all the time as a kid and this got rid of it for good, i only got it once recently and it went away in two/three days by using aloe! (i don’t know why this isn’t out there on the internet…hello holistic people!)

- Erin Go Bragh is actually “‘Erin go breà’” and means “Ireland is beautiful”. I never knew forever and wanted to know every St. Patty’s Day!

- iterate means to say again so reiterate is redundant, a whole ‘nother’ - nother is not a word, it should be ‘a whole other’ or ‘another’, and more (hold on a few days for more)

“oh no - i’m emo (take this quiz bla bla)” is my absolute favorite ad i’ve seen on my site.

- the Chinese words ‘to eat’ actually mean ‘to eat rice’

- Ants never sleep, but rabbits sleep about 18 times a day!

i don’t sleep and i’m still alive.
