if you’re bored and you know it, say you’re bored. in most cases maybe.

that all depends really. hugely inappropriate sometimes.

but the children have inspired me to be a little bit more expressive about my boredom.

i hear kids say it all the time when i know they are not bored.

hmm. ehh.

the children are making me tired.

must sleep. almost finished. so many weird and exciting things to say. best friend getting married very soon. went out tonight and socialized and it was fun.

hate the love the children. a yin a yang.

horsebird’s away!

Apologies and No More Excuses! (from me at least)

I really do be positive yo. Not about my procrastinatory academic history and not about my trouble with following through and completing projects (I get bored and move on easily)…..

but I infect the world with positivity.

Ok. Sometimes I gossip or stretch the truth, speak ill about something, or negatively bash the state of the country in which I live, but other than that….between humans…….

I don’t just try (negative sounding), I DO!

So I will stop making excuses, and make some good quality blogs while I’m finishing student teaching……to balance out the academic work vs. pleasure on the internet tubes that constantly distracts me from homeworking my homework.

To Blogging and Positivity! (and maybe even Productivity?!?!)

YES!

(Three cheers for horsebird that I haven’t heard from in a while. But miracles do happen!)

one tough mouse- pacman frog bites mouse on the head

Beware you vegetarians and animal lovers- animals were harmed in the making of this video!

Pacman Frog Bites Mouse on Head

They ended up taking the mouse out and letting it live a few more days (all wounded?!) because it was so brave and strong.

You can do it, little mouse! Live a little longer. It was probably in so much pain and so traumatized that it hated life anyway.

Well. You can look at it from either angle.

And in any case, the mouse did get eaten. I have another longer video to put up of the frog eating a whole mouse. Should I put it up? Or will my animaltarian friends cry?!?!

I will put it up. It’s only a matter of time.

how bout we start with the chameleon and the cricket

green chameleon

my friends run a small zoo at their house. my friend reaches into the chameleon’s cage to pull it out and it’s all hissing and being so pissed, but then it seems to enjoy itself on the nearby plant:

this is about seven crickets into the game, and the chameleon is still awesome at getting his prey. check the long tongue action!:

(enjoy madlib’s “beat konducta in india” in the background)

i told you it was sweet.

Letting Go

once upon a time exactly 18 days and two years ago (8.8.5) one mr. marky and i went for a little adventure. it started off as a simple walk along my hometown streets, and then we decided to take a turn for the exciting by hittin up the local nature trail. the foot wide path was a lot more nature than i had remembered; menacing foliage started invading our personal space. the path eventually disappeared and we were faced head on with something like a jungley swamp, complete with water buffalo and a couple o blades……..of grass. it was crazy. the foliage overtook our viewpaths and i just hacked it down to not appear afraid; lacking courage in one’s own hometownspace would not be viewed favorably upon by the greater group of guys and gals in the galaxy.

in short, mrak had to let go. let go of his knowledge of a walk in nature as he knew it, let go of keeping his shoes dry, let go of holding on to thinking he wasn’t having hallucinations.

i had to let go. of my concerns about being lost or eaten by the water buffalo, of my sense of time and place, of the paranoia about that water buffalo.

in the end, mark said it was the best walk he had ever in fact had. myself agreed. it was so wild, so crazy, our legs all scratched up, trampling down grass i would imagine you’d have seen where they found Moses in the basket in the water. i never knew this place existed right down the road from my house. i don’t think it does anymore and i know we could never go back there like we did that day.

i have to let go all the time. i have to remind myself in many instances of new times, hesitations, uncertainties, and upset emotions, and do something real bottomy like enjoy the old “beauty in the breakdown”. when i get the rage (shout out to nikki b), i have to stop myself and “i think to myself ‘what a wonderful world’”

letting go is that tough thing those meditators and buddhists always talk about. and i’m all like let’s go “down in the river to pray” or something similar because in whatever way you chill out, it’s the way to letting go of all that ick. ick is sick. and whack. it never passes me by, but i can pass on it occasionally and instead pass on some love and peace.

reloveution, horsebird, uncertainty about my future does not mean i am all uptight (though i have been), but overall we really do live in such a nice place. people just need to keep doing stuff.

on that note! i’m up for hire, agreement of myself to any service agreement is based on pay rate and on the grand moral scale of my one and only me.

i love you world, now go learn some french or violin (from me)

How to win friends with your krunk-top blog, part deux

If you so accurately remember, I made a “how-to-win-friends-with-your-krunk-top-blog post last year on this date about how to win some krunk friends with your awesome krunked-out blog. It remains questionable as to how many friends I’ve acquired solely because of the blog, but they are friends nonetheless.

Here are some more ways to win friends with your blog:

1) Come up with a mythical creature that exists in your local area that is somewhat grounded in reality. Horsebird is mine thanks. Let people know what’s up, they might be scared or lost or alone, and knowing about this creature could help knock them out of a serious depression.
2) Never blog about the same thing thrice. Twice is fine, but if you keep harping on the same old tired subject, no one will listen! Do you think people get interested in one thing and want to know more and more about it? No! They want variety. They get bored so easily this day and age with all the overstimulation! (maybe I’m just talking about me here)
3) Talk a good game.
4) If you get bored, or your life gets boring, propel it to the other extreme- go sky diving, buy a flashy car, win the lottery, or anything to distract people from the boredom. Next thing you know, you won’t be boring, and everyone will be tripping over twigs to get closer to your scent.
5) Keep it clean. Touch upon risque subjects every now and again, but be vague, ambiguous, or equivocate a bit. But go there.
6) Have more pictures.

Scandalously Hot Picture of me at the Beach

Well, until next year, good luck with winning friends and having a krunk-top blog! Stay tuned for more of my own personal flair for krunktipop.

ooh wee i’m tired

i’m always a lil tired aren’t i? mostly. oh well. i can’t believe how much i love cute dogs named bella and then some other cute dogs. i used to HATE them. i try not to hate on anything anymore.

well

Woman on a ooo pushing her baby in a stroller

maybe not not hate on everything.

marriage in america. what is it. i don’t know.

i am proud of all the friends of mine who have some marriages or some childrens. i can’t ever even have any more real relationships. just fakeships. or celibacy.

it’s just like what one wise quasimoto once said “Don’t go away mad/Just go away/You ain’t gotta go away mad, girl/Just go away” and i think it has been said to me. by myself. or by all the other hydrants.

in case you dint know about the b-boys and i. we’ll all be hanging out as soon as i get one of these babies. it’s really the only kind of baby i could have right now. speaking of missing my niece!

should i go to my friends’ concert at the end of july and erykah badu at the beginning of august, or should i go to the rock the bells show?!?!

so many decisions, so little discussion about the important things that have happened to me recently. like seeing a cardinal’s nest outside my friends’ window. they say the mother leaves more than the father so he comes and feeds the baby cardinals more than she does. i got to see it happen.

i also found out a wealth of awesome information on hummingbirds. i will share it when i recover the article on it.

finally, the best part of everything, my friend last night saw ‘interior light in his car on all the time’ man. so he is real. very real. unfortunately horsebird is less prevalent these days.

i love you all but i have to work. last night after work i came out to a plastic bag on my car. my coworker and i checked it out to make sure nothing fishscaley was up. nothing was. it was just a bag of your average dried mango. actually it was really good dried mango. and my car smelled overwhelmingly like cologne. that’s the part i don’t understand.

life is and is not equally a mystery. i love it.

Tin Hat, Bags of Cats, and Horsebird Attack

Sunday night, the night I was planning to get everything done, a friend called and asked if I’d go to see Tin Hat (no longer Tin Hat Trio because Rob Burger left and two others joined)

Long story short? Doesn’t usually happen in my book, but it was a delightful spontaneous bout of musical energy, a fantastic night of earful glee.

I’m forever grateful that he called and that we all went. World Cafe Live downstairs is a nice little swanky sweet place. They had delicious eggplant fries and the waiter called me anorexic because he thought I didn’t order anything. Au contraire, mon ami, I was going to just steal from the other two in the party.

The band F! played before Tin Hat. They were fun, I liked the accordion, but we did miss about half of it (behold spontaneity and slow get-ready-ers).

My favorite parts of Tin Hat? That sexy-bass contra-alto clarinet!!! Player Ben Goldberg quipped that he teases friends who play the bass by pointing out that this clarinet goes one note lower than the bass does! It was a sweet, sweet instrument and I don’t know why I have never met it before. And then there was the violinist Carla Kihlstedt, who started off by playing a Stroh violin horn-y thing…very nice, I like!!!

Each artist used their instruments to the fullest ability and beyond. This wasn’t just your conventional strumming on a guitar or bowing and plucking a violin, oh no, they hit and slapped and worked and twerked all parts of the instruments. Nothing short of incredible and quite refreshing.

Genre? Refreshing as well. I was hesitant at first to pay a lot of money to see jazz if I wasn’t in the mood. They’re not jazz, so much as pop, soul, freebooting, and so much more. They’re like the Fresh Cut Salads (genre= pop-secret®) of Jazz.

I don’t normally like to close my eyes while listening to music because I feel pretty bottomy, but I had to because anything else was too distracting, and I didn’t want nothin’ to take away from that beauty full noise.

——————————

In other news? Good things are happening everywhere, I saw it on the news. My news that is. If you want to know more, check this out- yay for knowledge and horsebird’s near hatching.

Lollipops and dog treats from the bank. Have a splendid day.

getting older

i regularly tear up the fabric of the gore vent men while placing limited sacraments upon puddly pedestals. i raise my milk glass to the whispy throes of cryptozoologial kingdoms.
i write a lot of hoo hah and would like to brew vodka but don’t know exactly how. i don’t know why my autobiographie is not yet written even though i’m still living it i could have written a lot of events that may or may not happen?

i vow to stop talking about my obsession with caffeine. let’s move on for now. right, back to the topic at hand: now that i’m older i care a lot about politics- so i am a faithful viewer of the daily show / colbert report duo. i heart it and that means it’s like passion fruit to me. 98% of other tv is terrible to me. but i am still weak so i still fail. i actually never fail, i just learn opportunity occasion. i may not look as good as i used to but i don’t care- i do like to make fun of or help the girls/woman who degrade themselves on myspace or the facebook degrade themselves further by viewing their near-pornographic photos and lives. well, i guess that’s overboard, but you know what i’m saying if you’re not a hizzo and you’re over the hill (anywhere from 21-25 and up into the ages no one wants to talk about). maybe i’m just jealous and maybe i know better.
i think it’s a wisdom with age thing. because i am almost the big mid-hill hill minus a year (this december. if you know what i mean).
i’m getting older and i don’t mind. i think i’m moving into my first own apartment with my friend carlabean and we are going to rock the socks off apartmentizing. you know how it goes if you’ve ever been there.
i’m boring us now. so goodnight. sleep tight. let luna fly in your dreams and horsebird bite.

getting older

vivian will tell you about getting older later. right now she’s busy learning english.
