statistics and things we’ve all heard VS. the dog who chewed off its feet and walked again!

Drinking Wine Adds 5 Years to Your Bla-Bla-Bla Life

Sure, we’ve all heard of the numerous health benefits associated with a modest one glass of wine per day.

But how about all the other factors they’re not taking in- Dutch people? They definitely do things that are a lot more healthy than Americans.

Whatever.

I’m mostly proud of this dog right now.

Dog Chews Off Feet, Walks Again

If the dog can do it, not only I, but a lot of other people have the capacity to do it too.

Lastly, I only had enough time to look at this to know that they’re all completely awesome except for collection number 14 (which still has its own merits): 25 strangest collections on the web

11-mile local man and woman walk ends in injury due partially to stupidity

m and i went on a really long walk. since i got injured, i’ll be able to upload some photos (need to do more of that for this long walk post) and tell some good sticky-”tic”-y temp. ‘o! times!!

(does “sticky-”tic”-y temp. ‘o!” remind anyone else of the “ricky-ticky-tembo-no-sarembo-etcetera story?!)

amandoo with a pig nose

well, at least i have a nice car to transport my injured self in.

it wasn’t totally due to stupidity, the other part was the fault of the stick- that was attacking me!

mrak and amandoo sitting near tanamend park

that’s us near tanamend park. here is mrak at the churchville train station:

mrak at churchville train station

we didn’t think it was in use, but someone brought a cat out of there. we’re not sure if it’s a vet, or if someone lives there?! after about 10 miles, we made it to the Churchville Reservoir!

mrak and amandoo make it to churchville reservoir

and boy were we tired. i was complaining. and then, boom, stick-hit:

amandoo gets injured on long walk

it’s way worse than it looks, oh the bruising and complaining! not gonna lie, it was partially my fault :) oh well!

i’ve got lots of nothings to say up in here- but i will report on this bug in my sandwich

i decided to get a nice sandwich for dinner from a healthy restaurant = $$ and decided it would last longer if i took a pic:

my delicious dinner

what i dint know was what was contained somewhere within:

weird bug in my dinner
(look carefully- you can see it moving)

other than that excitement and calamity, i talked with my niece on the phone, and my older niece and mother were laughing in the background and then she was laughing and i was laughing from making her laugh, it was amazing. if you love to make a child laugh that you know/love, then you’ll know what i’m sayin.

supposedly madlib is going to make a collabalbum with melvin van peebles entitled “Brer Soul Meets Quasimoto”, but maybe that was a rumor going around in 1995. man 1995 is old ago!

here, let this photo touch your heart:

otis jackson and melvin van peebles

it doesn’t? well, you’re obviously not me.

heh

what does “heh” mean? is it a partially enthused laugh? is it a lazy laugh? is it sarcastic? is it something?

i will say it every once in a while and i’m not sure what it means.

i’m tired, my nose hurts, complaint, complaint, etc. things are actually pretty good right now. an optimistic recent turn of events counteracted a not-so-pretty situation. what am i talking about? you will probably never know.

but. i did see a funny comedy act, of the pre-recorded variety, and it was ricky gervais. he is awesome. awesome funny.

my favorite part was when he talked about the internets. he made fun of random trivia people post, he made fun of animal facts and it was good. i knew the “cows can’t walk backwards” one, but i had no idea that “stroking spiders can cause baldness” (in the spider).

he also talked about how the internet is already clogged up with all of these pages, and then there are people wanting to talk about themselves! i got a personal kick out of that, and i’ll write about it, on my half-personal half-completely random and half-what the blog.

i watched this with some lady friends, and boy did we have a good time. most of the time of it. then i got upset about something personal, and i couldn’t concentrate, or focus and finish (ie have a fun, relaxed time) and i started getting so emotional!

then i realized i was just quite hungry. there was a reason, but that got semi-resolved, and after i ate a hearty meal that involved some tofu-protein, i was happy and fine.

in conclusion, value city is going out of business, and i love the world. horsebird definitely still included.

Bella Indigo Sasquatch’s Cutest Puppy Patch!

Bella had 2 lil border collie puppies on October 4th, 2008. Since then, I have felt snooged beyond belief. These little angels are too adorable, and she is a perfect mother. Boyfriend is also a gem at dealing with them, which makes me think that I should revisit the way I react to situations in preparation for someyear having children.

Without further ado (2 days old):

Bella Indigo Sasquatch puppies

And here is the most precious snoog of face:

Bella Indigo Sasquatch and puppy on face

And here they are all by themselves when they were only a few hours old:

Newborn border collie puppies

And more to come. They are so “mewly” and precious. They are now 9 days old and do a fine job crawling around with their eyes still closed. She is spending a little bit less time with them, so we have to keep encouraging her to stay in the whelping box. But overall, it’s perfection.

friends! here is a song for everyone to know and love! you gotta cherish it!!!

on popurls the title was “i was looking around myspace, and i think i may have stumbled onto the worst techno, ever”, but friends! if you listen to it. listen to it all. take a deep breath. and listen to it again a little later.

hold on. wait for it. yeah. i just finished listening to it again. unbelievable in so many ways.

and then take a look at her pics. and i will attest to you, humans, that i love life, and i am positive about all of the sky, the sun, the stars, and most of the earth. not a lot of it, but a lot of it indeed. a lot of it. like, i am optimistically positive. i am certain that the goods will prevail.

teaching is going. i am still a horrible procrastinator, but i am learning……and i am going to success.

so listen to this song again.

i also trash picked a few nice additions for my classroom. and a few things came together- getting a key, getting a dvd player! woohooooo

ok back to planning, all the time. but i had to pause to share that song with you.

just. just. that song.

Tippy Canoe and Luna Too (Holding Hands?!)

Tippy Canoe and Luna were on the floor today, loungin’, as usual, when all of a sudden…

Tippy Canoe and Luna Yeti (cats) holding hands

They are not actually holding hands. Well, they sort of were, and I caught them (which makes me proud), but one second later they were fighting. A lot.

The City of Lights Goes Green

I have always loved how environmentally conscious the French were in quirky ways. When I studied abroad, there was a penguin stalking me. The penguin was always telling me to take shorter showers, or to “Let’s act for tomorrow, every day“. For you francophones:

“Agir pour demain, tous les jours » qui sera dès ce printemps l’expression grand public de notre démarche dans les magasins en est aussi la preuve”.

And now the “City of Lights Turns Off Their Lights“. This short article explains Paris’ energy saving light plan- switching standard incandescent lights with metal iodide lights on a lot of their monuments.

The monuments’ lights are (and have been turning) turned off after either 12 or 1am to save even more energy. They also took the total lights illuminating the monuments from over 2000 to about 1100- almost half!

I hope other countries follow suite!

Yay for Paris, city of lights, that could now be called the “City of Energy-Saving Lights”.

J’adore le pingouin!

Madlib Lootpack | HitYaWitDat | How I Keep Myself Entertained

First of all I don’t know why I haven’t suggested that you watch this video of Madlib’s homeade Lootpack music video!

How sweet is that?!?

Well…

..I was too inspired and had to make my own home music video:

Mrak rode on his scooter and taped me backwards. Challenging feats were accomplished by all.

I am not only proud of this music video, but I endorse it, and I know that when I practice and practice and practice enough, someday we will play music with Madlib.
