happy holloween

The West Village Halloween parade is still on, but faced a $4,000 deficit this year because of the scary economy. I promise you I had thought up “holloween” before I noticed they used it. I actually found that article by typing “the economy ruined halloween” into google. Great minds think alike. Most of this great stuff is already out there, leaving little room for inventors- except for the technology geniuses. Sure, there is always more art and music to make. In fact, I am very proud to say I finally recorded my first ever rhyme scheme. Got some of Mrak’s nice beats, was inspired by my cousin rhyming on the other half, and I went ahead and did it. I still procrastinate and freak out and lack sleep like nobody’s business as far as school prep goes, but I am quite proud of myself. It’s not terrifically wonderful, but it’s a start. It’s a family collab and I like that most. Hmmm, let’s see. Other than that I have been too busy to blog, too busy to sleep, and a bit stressed almost constantly. I watched the Phillies and liked it, I love to watch “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” and I think I want a job with foreign and international business language type stuff. You can see that I’ve already almost landed a job in that respect because of the lingo. But do I really want to add a statistic to the “nearly 50% of new educators leave the field within the first 5 years”? Maybe. We’ll see.

In the meantime, I hope you didn’t spend $60 on candy, which is apparently an average amount for an American to spend. Also, vote soon, and vote wisely. Otherwise I’ll have to be blogging from another country, as a fewjittif.

I’m going to start a “Best of Yahoo Answers” page on my blog

The wealth of information you can get for free on yahoo answers! I was recently very inspired by the answer to the question “how is babby formed? how girl get pragnent?” which inspired this video “How is Babby Formed Video” I also recently answered my first question: “Does it annoy you that everybody says teachers are underpaid? they make a solid 40-50K for crying out loud, and the work is not very hard, not to mention they get some of the most generous benefits in the country. Why is this misconception about teachers being underpaid so widespread? “ Obviously many people and many teachers quickly responded that duh, teaching is not a walk in a park, and if you are at all any good, you have to put in more than “time after time” and you also have to be a babysitter and magician and more. Most teachers also do not get that pay.

I am going to start finding random answers I really like. I have to be careful, as there could be hundreds of exceptional answers demonstrating humankind nowadays. Even the questions themselves can be pretty good!

Q: “Can you take a dog a shower with regular human shampoo?”
my favorite A: “you can use ivory dish soap or dawn dish soap for white dogs, the dawn rewhitens dogs unless they have tear or drool stains.” that, or rubbing dryer sheets on them to make them smell better!

I know it’s maybe “old hat” to blog about the “dangerous side effects of Rx drugs”(ehhem Gardisil)…oh wait. Nope. I just found renewed strength in my convictions!

The US Center for Disease Control and Prevention just stated this today: “Girls and young women given Merck and Co’s Gardasil vaccine to prevent cervical cancer were not any more likely than usual to faint, have an allergic reaction, blood clot, or other adverse reaction, federal officials said on Wednesday.”

Go ahead and read that article if you’re a woman who is considering, a woman who has had, or a mother who’s daughter has had or might “have to have” the Gardasil HPV shot.

There reports are only based on studies done from 2006-2008, which again reminds me that I will tell anyone who will listen I think they should wait a few years to really see what side effects there are (and there will always be many more unreported side effects that people may not realize are from it).

Just keep reading down that article, though, until you get to the 8th paragraph that gives a number (over 10,000 cases) that had side effect this year. I don’t care how many that’s out of, that’s still a lot of people. And they go on to say that only 6% were serious. Only six percent? Well, what about the people that died. Twenty-seven human lives.

27 people died. After that they go on to claim there were other health issues involved, but right there alone I see a huge problem. Gardasil isn’t even proven to prevent HPV and other genital issues- oh, no! - even if it’s been claiming too, it has not been around long enough to really validate itself.

Another sweet admission from them: “Fainting is common after injections and vaccinations, especially in adolescents.” Sounds like a good sign to me!

I decided to look into these so-called adverse reactions because this idea of “a vaccine against genital warts you will probably but not certainly come in contact with” has always freaked me out. My doctor was pushing and pushing it; I said no; she gave me bad reasons why I should take it…and I asked about why it’s only given up to the age of 26 and she said “By then they assume you’ve already gotten it”. Yeah. So.

Check out these many stories about how Gardasil negatively affected these girls here

Even on their own site about it they try to talk-down the seizure-y side effects

But don’t be fooled by tricky wording (think elections and politicians)…check out reports on the National Vaccination Information Center site- you can see a lot of the side effects, and I stumbled through just a few before I found this:

“On an unspecified date in approximately September the patient developed swelling in her lymph nodes and groin. Unspecified medical attention was sought. At the time of this report it was unknown if the patient had recovered. Additional information has been requested.”

Swelling in lymph nodes and groin? I’m scurred! Who even knows about the deaths that might not have been linked or yet reported?!

Good old yahoo answers discusses deaths that occurred within 48-72 hours after the shot.

How about Guillain-Barre syndrome or pancreatis?

This site also mentions that “Securities and Exchange Commission documents show Merck made $1.5 billion in Gardasil sales last year.” Merck made over ONE AND A HALF BILLION DOLLARS IN A YEAR FOR THAT SHOT.

And the government is trying to mandate it in certain states? No comment from me there! Ok, maybe except for that Merck rhymes with “Beurk” which is French slang for DISGUSTING.

Pheonix mom’s group debates it for their teens and again discusses how new it is and how few reports of 100% prevention there even are. The adverse risks and costly health side effects are surfacing more and more.

Read a disturbing and sad article from one of the first parent’s who lost a child to speak out “My daughter died as a guinea pig for Gardasil

And even more disturbing news about Gardasil coming from other countries.

I’ve gone on long enough. But please- do the research yourself! And really consider the risks and the fact that it is still so new. People’s lives are at stake. And they so casually report 27 deaths, when these were girls or young woman trying to take so-called preventative care of themselves. Reminds me of other concerns I have about casual death toll reports and side effects.

Well, that was Amandoo, reporting that news to you, and procrastinating very important planning in the meantime, but I care about the kids. I care about standing up and spreading the good, healthy word.

Yo Gabba Gabba - There’s a Party in my Tummy

Yo Gabba Gabba is the best thing ever. The song and video “There’s a Party in my Tummy” is even better.

Watch it a hundred times for better understanding of the world, and yourself.

“At the Top of Green Mountain” makes me feel better

Sometimes I feel up, sometimes down. Sometimes I fill my car up, sometimes my $ supply is out of town.

I have no money; I have a job, but all my money went to necessary evils such as taxes, car repair, dental bills, and STUDENT LOANS.

What do I have left? For happiness, I am relying on puppies, the continuation of days (and hopefully more money coming), as well as music.

With that in mind, watch this melancholic and delightful piece by one of my favorite bands ever.

Fresh Cut Salads performing “At the Top of Green Mountain” at John & Peter’s in New Hope, PA.

Most other F.C.S. songs make me happy as well, or put me in a better mood. The Fresh Cut Salads are the most wonderful of people.

A lot of them have birthdays in October, so we should give them lots of presents. I don’t have money, but I have creative ideas. I better go get to it.

the debates kind of make me want to throw up and pass out a.k.a. (john joe six-pack mclame sucks!)

what i’ve picked up on in the last few minutes

mccain: i noticed that mclame was getting really mad, quite frequently.

who is this joe he’s talking about? “joe six-pack“?! - “joe you’re rich, congratulations!”

“senator government” (probably what he calls himself and what he has his trophy wife call him)

obama : he looked into the camera a.k.a. the audience, most of us, most of the time

mccain: looking this way and that, blinking angrily

also….what is that again on the side of his face? i think it’s war. war on the side of his chin, war and excessive spending. sometimes it looks like jaw-grinding to the max and anger/hatred trying to pop out of his face. he might have a hernia onstage.

Quality quotes:

Mccain loves to call Roe versus Wade “Roe Vee Wade”, which is fine, but also funny

Mccain: “senator government”

Mccain: “i’m not gonna keep throwing money at a problem” (fill in the blanks- W _ _ in _ r _ q ?)

Mccain: “bla bla bla, we’ll show courage and compassion to young women, i’m pro-life, senator obama voted “in direction contradiction to the feelings and views of MAINSTREAM america” (about abortion issues. i doubt mainstream america would prevent a woman from getting an abortion due to rape)

End quotes, because there are too many quality terrible ones to include.

Well, I don’t want to get into the politics of it too much, because it makes me a) very upset, and b) disgusted and wanting to throw up, c) upset that there aren’t more debators- it’s all set up so nobody wins in the end

both candidates will raise taxes, both candidates will be skee-rewed because of the economy, and both peepz would not pay educators a) more, or b) enough. and furthermore mccain would spend bajillions of dollars more on war and/or wars.

i feel a little violated because of a) the whole poli-tick-al system, and b) because of the corruption and deception (think diebold voting machines) in the upper and upper levels.

how to be proactive? sigh. in small ways. sigh. do i really have to vote for the “lesser of two evils”? i do like a lot of what obama says, but i’d much rather have ron paul!

finally, mccain “we find bad teachers another line of work” “bla bla bla” “cindy and i had [something about sending our kids to school]”-”what about your first wife i say!?” mccain says a lot of thinks. “we must improve education in this country” - Oh wow! That’s an awesome empty statement- I bet you love N.C.L.B. and think it’s working well!

“Let’s re-authorize no child left behind!” John McCain (who thinks “middle-class” citizens make about 200,000 a year)

how can i not be bitter!?!?! finally finally, john mccain just snorted and snortled.

************************************

this just in, after the debate was over, on those quick-to-say-stuff-social-bookmarking-sites: “does anyone else feel like vomiting while listening to mccain’s outright lies during this debate

in all complete 100% seriousness i actually feel nauseous. it could be what i ate, or maybe i’m getting sick, but i truly feel the possibility of vomit inside of me, and i don’t think it’s because of either of those. i’ll keep you updated though.

Bella Indigo Sasquatch’s Cutest Puppy Patch!

Bella had 2 lil border collie puppies on October 4th, 2008. Since then, I have felt snooged beyond belief. These little angels are too adorable, and she is a perfect mother. Boyfriend is also a gem at dealing with them, which makes me think that I should revisit the way I react to situations in preparation for someyear having children.

Without further ado (2 days old):

Bella Indigo Sasquatch puppies

And here is the most precious snoog of face:

Bella Indigo Sasquatch and puppy on face

And here they are all by themselves when they were only a few hours old:

Newborn border collie puppies

And more to come. They are so “mewly” and precious. They are now 9 days old and do a fine job crawling around with their eyes still closed. She is spending a little bit less time with them, so we have to keep encouraging her to stay in the whelping box. But overall, it’s perfection.

@#!$#^%$&^*%&$#$#%^&*(%^$##^&*()&*%&$^%#$ the eye are es

I have to send in my belated birthday, I mean extension-ified taxes. It was an awful work situation last year. I worked at 3 different Starbucks, and for 2 different peepz as a self-employed. Not to mention going to school. And lots of other little cripply details. So I got someone to help me prepare them.

GOOD MOVE!

They are about $800 less than what I was figuring (pst…they’re still an exorbitant excrement load of putridness). And I shouldn’t have to pay that much! Yes, there were no taxes taken out from my one transcription job, but come on! Please! I am so poor, work so hard, and have such a good personality, work ethic, soul, I give back….

AIE!

It will feel good to have them all said and done with, but boy, it’s taking a dent out of - no - it’s taking all of my money. And I should have saved, I know, but guess what. I nearly did not make it through all the working and schooling, and then the schooling where you couldn’t working.

But I have a MASTERS! And a JOB! And all that positive attitude and soul still. Just because the govvy-men are taking all of my every last pennies doesn’t mean that I will not survive.

I will work harder, make more money, and laugh it off, because money is not real anyway these days. It’s worth nothing. So at least I haven’t been buying a lot!

And then there are the puppies, which I will blog about separately. These are the gems of the world to me.

So, fellow fans and friends, sorry I haven’t written in a while. My spirits have been a little down. But now they will soar, because Fall is here and it’s hot to trot. In my books.

I see good futures in the near future. The present is presentable to an exterior eye. And I will not be taken down by the man.

this just in (but not new news at all): humorous humans give me hope

humor is awesome. the best. whenever i get upset about how corrupt the u$a is, or how bad the economy is, someone writes or says or does something incredibly funny and i get happy and hope-y.

humor refills my hope supply.

i’m a big sucker for random things online, such as:

awesome cat

also, many a best of craigslist’s. whether or not it’s true, the majority of them make me laugh. a lot. and i get excited about humans. (though i know there are other stupid, evil, just plain horrible, and bereft-of-humor peepz (and lots of ‘em)) but there are more awesome people! i have faith!!

i don’t know why, i just liked this one a lot:

You were being shoved into a Dallas Police car. - m4w
Date: 2008-08-14, 8:58AM CDT

I shouted “f#$% the police”…you made the black panther fist. You got tasered, I got goosebumps. Your hair is very pretty. Let’s chat after you make bail.

* Location: Dallas

That’s awesome. Quality people. Sometimes I don’t know what to do or think, so I just laugh. My students do make me laugh (whether or not I admit it by laughing aloud), and I love that. High-school students can be awesome.

p.s. if you’re looking for a halloween costume? check out this duck mask craigslist posting for an idea!

Umcka not only just worked for me, it basically saved my soul

I live for Umcka’s Coldcare Soothing Hot Drink that has worked for me several times now. Recently I blogged about yawning and crying and being completely run down.

I was certain I’d have to miss school, and with the tender situation going on right now, and me being a new teacher- it was the last thing I wanted. After a day or two of feeling the cold coming on, I thought I’d try Umcka to see if it could help.

“Umcka® originates from the traditional African Zulu medicine for coughs and respiratory ailments. It is made from Pelargonium sidoides- a species of geranium unique to South Africa. Doctor recommendation and user satisfaction make P. sidoides a leading European medicine. Umcka® ColdCare now in a great tasting, non-drowsy soothing hot drink.”

It did. I took it twice the first night, and literally the next day I already felt better. As per recommendation, I kept taking it, and I was pleasantly surprised- I made it through without getting any sicker. I really thought I was headed into a sicky sickness, and Umcka saved me. I again recommended it to some of my teacher friends, and one of them said she had used it, and it did indeed help.

WOOHOO UMCKA! (I think a positive attitude helps as well, but this stuff is truly magic!)
